Mathematician

I am a mathematician working in computational topology. Motivated by parameterized algorithms, my research is focused on *width parameters* of graphs associated with 3-manifolds.

I am currently employed as a non-tenure track assistant professor (Universitätsassistent) at the Institute of Geometry of TU Graz.

Between 2020 and 2022, I was a 3IA postdoctoral fellow under Jean-Daniel Boissonnat and Clément Maria in the DataShape team at Centre Inria d’Université Côte d’Azur in Southern France.

I spent the Fall of 2022 at Institut Henri Poincaré in Paris, participating in the thematic trimester Geometry and Statistics in Data Sciences.

Afterwards, I spent 11 months as a CNRS postdoctoral researcher under Édouard Bonnet at the Laboratoire de l’Informatique du Parallélisme of ENS de Lyon. In the Spring of 2023, I was also adjunct instructor at IUT Lyon 1.

I completed my PhD in 2020 at IST Austria under the supervision of Uli Wagner and Jonathan Spreer. My dissertation is available here.

Before that, I obtained a BSc in Mathematics at Eötvös Loránd University in Hungary, where my thesis advisor was András Stipsicz. I also studied abroad at Beloit College and at Universität Heidelberg.

I am passionate about birdwatching. I have been a member of MME (BirdLife Hungary) since 2007. One of my favorite birds is the long-tailed tit (*Aegithalos caudatus*). They are quite common almost everywhere in Europe, and usually can be observed in small flocks of about 10-20 birds.
